Night Court was a popular television comedy that ran for nine seasons and 193 episodes. The series premiered in 1984 and followed the exploits of night shift of a Manhattan court room presided by Judge Harry Stone.
With a cast of eccentric characters, Night Court was nominated and received several awards. John Larroquette, for example, won four consecutive Emmys for Supporting Actor in a Comedy. He would eventually withdraw his name from consideration.
Of the nine seasons released, the program ranked in the top 20 four times and in the top 30 every season except the first and final.
